Watch for the money trap too. If an employer is hiring you for hours of work, the money should flow towards you. Treat any upfront request as a stop-and-verify moment rather than something to pay first and question later: get the exact term in writing, the amount, whether it is refundable, who receives it, and whether it is being collected through the platform's official channel or into someone's personal UPI. If money has already left your account, report it on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or call the cyber financial fraud helpline on 1930 — the sooner the better, because holds on transferred money are time-sensitive.
