We think you should be able to trust a number before you act on it. So here is exactly where the data in our posts comes from, and where it does not.

We are pre-launch, and honest about it

Hustl is an early-stage company, still completing registration, running a real pilot in Chennai. Our founder operates retail stores, which means we test the product on real shifts with real workers and real businesses before a public launch. That gives us genuine first-party data, small, but real.

Our pilot numbers come with sample sizes

When we share a figure from our own platform, average shift pay, how fast a payout reaches UPI, how quickly a shift fills, it comes from completed pilot shifts, and we show the sample size and time period next to it. A number from a handful of shifts is labelled as exactly that. We never present a small pilot sample as a population-wide claim.

To be concrete: as of June 2026 the pilot is genuinely tiny, a handful of completed shifts, paying around ₹450 each, with our first rated hustler at 4.7 stars across three reviews. That is it. We would rather show you a small real number than a big invented one, and we will keep updating these as the pilot grows.

Market figures come from cited public sources

For the big-picture numbers, the size of India's gig economy, how many workers are students, growth forecasts, we cite public research such as the NITI Aayog policy brief on the platform economy, the International Labour Organization, and the India Skills Report. Pay ranges for Chennai roles are typical figures from public job boards and vary by employer.

What we will not do

We do not invent surveys, fabricate testimonials, or round a small number up into a headline. If we do not have real data for a claim, we say so or leave it out.
