Hustl is a gig-work app that connects workers ("hustlers") with local businesses for short, in-person shifts. Hustl is live in public beta in Chennai: verified businesses post real shifts, and real hustlers book them, work them and get paid. You see the pay, timing, location and tasks before you book, check in with the business’s QR code, and get paid to your linked UPI ID after the shift.

Signup is open. Go to app.hustl.today, enter your phone number and confirm the one-time OTP, add your profile details, and upload your documents for review. Creating an account is free and takes about a minute. The Hustl team then verifies your account before you can book shifts.

The Hustl team verifies every account manually. After you sign up you upload your documents in the app, a person at Hustl reviews your profile and those documents, and your account goes live once it is approved — from then on you can book shifts. Hustl does not publish a verification turnaround time, because every account is reviewed by a person rather than an automated system. If yours has been pending longer than you expected, email support@hustl.today with the phone number you signed up with.

Not an automated one. You upload your documents once and the Hustl team reviews them by hand before your account goes live. No external identity-verification provider is connected. The review confirms that the documents on file match the account; it does not go further than that. Your profile details and your UPI ID both need to be complete before you can be paid.

Yes. Creating an account, getting verified and finding shifts are all free for workers. There is no joining fee and no agency cut taken from your shift pay.

Hustl is for people who are 18 or older and eligible to work in India, and who can submit the documents Hustl asks for. You sign up either as a worker (hustler) or as a business (partner), one role per phone number.

The Discover screen lists open shifts near you, ranked by pay and distance. You see the role, business, timing and pay up front, and you can filter by role and schedule before you book. Availability varies, so check the app for shifts open near you right now.

Your booking appears in your schedule with the shift details and a reminder. On the day, you travel to the location, scan the business’s QR code to check in, work the shift, enter their six-digit OTP to check out, and submit your rating of the workplace. Your payout is released after that.

When you arrive you scan the business’s rotating QR code to check in, and your location is recorded alongside it when your phone supplies it. At the end of the shift you enter the business’s rotating six-digit OTP to check out. Both sides get a timestamped record of the shift, and any partner or admin override of the QR or OTP step is recorded separately.

Yes, but cancel as early as you can so the business has time to re-fill the shift. Cancelling within three hours of the start time applies a late-cancellation fee that is deducted from your next payout, and repeated late cancellations or no-shows can affect your rating and your access to future work.

The booking leaves your schedule and you are notified in the app. No cancellation fee applies to you, and because pay is released for shifts you actually work, a cancelled shift is not paid. A business cannot cancel a shift once you have checked in or finished it. If a shift is cancelled at the last minute, tell us at support@hustl.today so we can look into it.

You are paid to the UPI ID linked in your profile, within minutes of completing the shift and submitting your shift rating — both steps are needed before the payout is released. Hustl is in public beta and the payment gateway is not integrated yet, so each payout is released by our team rather than automatically. It is usually under 2 minutes, typically 2-5 minutes, and no more than 10 minutes after you complete your shift and submit your rating.

Yes. Payouts are sent to the UPI ID linked in your profile, so save a working UPI ID before your first shift and keep it up to date. Hustl does not pay in cash and does not hold your earnings between shifts.

Pay is set per shift and shown before you book, so you always know the amount up front. What you earn depends on how many shifts you take and which roles you choose. Hustl does not guarantee an income.

The shift pay you see before booking is what the job pays. There is no joining fee to create an account or browse shifts, and Hustl does not charge workers an agency cut. The only deductions are penalties you incur yourself, such as the late-cancellation fee for cancelling within three hours of a shift.

If it has been longer than that, something needs checking. First confirm that the UPI ID in your profile is correct and active. Then contact in-app support or email support@hustl.today with the shift date, the business name and your UPI ID, and the team will trace the payment and release it.

Hustl does not make safety guarantees; what it does is build a record of every shift. Both the worker and the business are verified manually by the Hustl team before either can work or post. Check-in uses the business’s rotating QR code, with your location recorded when your phone supplies it, and check-out uses their rotating six-digit OTP. Chats, photos and timestamps stay attached to the booking, and partner or admin overrides are recorded separately. Use your own judgement about any workplace, and contact support if something is wrong.

Hustl collects only what it needs to run shifts and pay you, stores personal data on infrastructure in India, and operates as a Data Fiduciary under India’s DPDPA 2023. You can read what is collected, how long it is kept and how to exercise your rights in the privacy policy.

Location is used to show shifts near you and to record how close you were when you checked in and out. That record supports the shift log; it is not the thing that approves your attendance, which is the business’s QR code and OTP. You stay in control of when location is shared.

After each shift the business rates you and you rate the workplace. Submitting your rating is also what releases your payout, so do it as soon as you check out. A strong rating history builds trust and opens up more work over time.

Ranks and badges are the social layer Hustl is building: complete shifts and earn good reviews, and you will move up ranks and earn badges that signal reliability to businesses. They are on the roadmap rather than live today, where your rating and shift history are what businesses see.

Verified hustlers nearby see it and book it directly, with no staffing agency in between. During the beta, verified partners post using free beta credits.

During the beta, verified partners post shifts using free beta credits, so there is no platform charge yet. Paid partner billing is not live. There are no agency retainers and no long-term contracts.

Open shifts are shown to verified hustlers nearby as soon as you post, and posting earlier gives you the widest pool. Fill time depends on who is available in your area, so Hustl does not promise one. Activity is currently concentrated in Chennai, around Avadi and Velachery.

A hustler checks in by scanning your rotating QR code, so the app shows you whether they have checked in. No-shows are recorded against the worker’s reputation, and you can re-post the shift.

Yes, until a hustler has checked in. If nobody has booked it yet, your credits come back in full. If a hustler has already booked it, part of the credits is retained, and the closer to the start time you cancel the more is retained — cancelling on someone who has planned their day around your shift is not free. Once the hustler has checked in or finished, the shift can no longer be cancelled.

Hustl is live in public beta in Chennai, with activity concentrated in Avadi and Velachery, and is built to expand to more Indian cities. If you are elsewhere in India you can still create an account, and we will let you know when we reach you.

Not yet. Hustl runs in your phone’s browser today: hustlers use app.hustl.today and businesses use partner.hustl.today, and both work on any modern mobile browser with no download. Native iOS and Android apps arrive with our first stable release.

Hustl plans to charge businesses a platform fee on the shifts they post. During the beta, verified partners post using free beta credits and that billing is not live yet. Workers are never charged an agency fee to find work.
