“Event helper” could mean preparing a space or checking guests in. Ask which work you are accepting before planning your day.
Registration is real event work in its own right. IIT Madras's archive of a Saarang registration desk in 2003 offers a historical example; it says nothing about current vacancies.
At Hustl, we want these differences described clearly. Respect for a role starts with explaining it.
Read the task, then the title
For setup, ask what materials you would handle, who gives instructions and whether work continues after the event. Clarify any lifting, tools, equipment or specialist activity before agreeing. Don't assume a general helper is trained to operate everything at the venue.
For registration, ask how entries are checked, who resolves missing names and what to do when a guest disputes an entry. Confirm whether you will handle devices, printed lists, tickets or payments, and which permissions apply.
A retail qualification pack defines roles through their functions and required knowledge. A useful event brief should let you identify both.

The card is an original template. Add any required briefing time rather than hiding it inside an estimated start.
If an organiser later adds another task, check what changes: timing, responsibility, training and the original agreement. A new duty is worth discussing even when it sounds small.
Our one-day work guide covers the broader decision.
At the end of a registration role, return lists and devices through the organiser's process. Don't retain guest names or numbers as proof of experience. A private note describing your own task is enough for later reflection.
