“Free after college” is too vague for a work commitment. Send a start time, an end time and the dates your availability covers.
Open your actual timetable first. Mark classes, labs, submissions and compulsory sessions, then add travel and the time you need to get ready. A class ending at 3 pm does not make you available at a workplace at 3 pm.
Anna University's academic-course centre publishes separate schedules for different programmes and institutions. Use the schedule that applies to you, then check your department's notices for changes.
Build an availability strip
For each possible workday, fill in:
Last college commitment → travel → preparation → earliest work start → latest work finish → journey home.
This is a planning tool, not a recommended number of working hours. Leave a day unavailable when the sequence does not fit. Study time and family commitments can occupy a slot even when there is no class printed in it.
An example message
The following times are illustrative:
I can work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm for the next two weeks. I need to finish by 8.30 pm for my journey home. I am unavailable this Saturday because of college work. Please confirm the branch and tasks before assigning a shift.
Replace every detail with your own. Include dates in DD/MM/YYYY when the arrangement could otherwise be confused with a recurring weekly promise.

If a lab moves, send an update promptly: “My college schedule changed. From [date], my earliest start on Thursday is [time]. Please confirm whether that still works.”
