A campus-ambassador title does not tell you whether the work is promotion, event coordination, feedback collection or sales. Read the requested deliverables before deciding whether the offer suits you.
For a concrete example, Zeitgeist 2026's programme page describes promotion, college liaison and student feedback. Its listed benefits include appreciation and recommendation documents and merchandise. Those are that programme's descriptions, not standard terms for every ambassador offer.
Separate the work from the reward

Leave unknowns open. A statement such as “certificate available” still needs details about the issuer and completion conditions.
Don't estimate how many friends will register just to make an application look strong. Ask whether the organiser expects access to personal contacts or college groups, and use only channels where you have permission to promote the event.
